Melbourne CAPS BU had its genesis in 1999 in response to the rapid growth of the company and the need to service the growing client base in Army projects operating from Victoria Barracks, Air Force logistics projects at Laverton and modelling and simulation support to the Defence Science and Technology Organisation.  Since inception, Melbourne CAPS BU has also developed a significant proportion of non-Defence work, both in the State Government and Commercial sectors.  The BU offers project management, systems engineering and logistics management expertise, as well as maintaining a track record of holistic solution delivery utilising the latest technologies, such as fraud detection systems for the Finance industry and Radio Frequency Identification Device enabled inventory tracking systems for Defence.  Melbourne CAPS BU services clients in the Defence market in both Victoria and New Zealand.

The BU also has a strong focus on the Victorian state government through enduring relationships with Department of Justice agencies such as the Victorian State Police, and the Bureau of Emergency Services and Telecommunications.  In the commercial arena, the BU seeks to engage with clients in the Transport, Infrastructure and Utilities sectors, leveraging from the engineering, logistics and information technology capabilities nurtured through our Defence projects.  Our experienced team has a diversity of backgrounds spanning engineering, business analysis, IT, project management and logistics.
