The Defence Support Group (DSG) was created on 1 July 2006 as a result of organisational reforms within Defence.  DSG embodies the functions of the Corporate Services and Infrastructure Group along with a new Personnel Services Division and a new Health Services Division.  DSG was established as a consolidated service delivery organisation to provide vital elements underpinning Defence capability, as well as being central to the communities in which Defence operates.

In early 2007, QinetiQ Consulting was admitted as a member of a Standing Offer Panel with DSG for the provision of a broad range of consultancy support services to assist with the delivery of projects, services and business management.  Where necessary and appropriate, this Panel can also support the business and commercial consultancy needs of other areas within the broader Defence community.
