Do I need to be an Australian citizen?

In most circumstances, yes.  As our client base is predominantly Australian Federal or State governments, we require most of our employees to have Australian citizenship, especially if they are employed as consultants.  If you have any questions regarding this aspect, please contact us on 1800 007 301 and ask for our HR Manager.

Will I be required to undergo any security checks?

In most circumstances, yes.  As our client base is predominately Defence we require most of our employees to hold a Defence Security clearance.  Applicants must be Australian citizens to obtain this type of clearance. What should I include with my application?

Your application should state the type of role you are applying for or which advertised role you are applying for.  Your application should be accompanied by a CV with copies of relevant qualifications attached.

I have spent most of my working life working for the Department of Defence.  What is the difference between working in the public sector and working in the private sector?

There are some major differences in the benefits we are able to provide as a private company.  For example, we have a limited ability to offer salary sacrificing.  It is only available for car leases, mobile phones, superannuation and laptops.

There are also significant differences in the way we do business.  We do not have flexitime and we expect you to be self-managing.  We are required to be profitable and we only have the money that we earn to spend on benefits such as employee training.  We are reliant on winning work and not on the allocation of funds.  This makes us very aware of our reputation, of providing value for money and adding value to our client's business.  We are also very mindful of costs and we strive for efficiencies so that we do not waste money.  We run the business like it is our own money at stake and we ask our employees to take the same view.

What type of work will I do?

As a consultant, you will be working on projects that make the most of your skills.  These projects can last for very different lengths of time - some as long as 2 to 3 years, some as short as a few weeks.
