Operations Research and Analysis

QinetiQ Consulting's Operations Research and Analysis Practice has a focus on the development and employment of sophisticated methodologies and techniques to provide powerful insights into the complexities, dynamics and uncertainties of Australia's changing technology, economic, social and security environments.  Generally, the Practice uses evidence-based multi-disciplinary approaches to inform decision-making and develop solutions in areas such as:

  • net-centric operations
  • systems (and system of systems) management; analysis and architectures
  • organisational and technical interoperability assessment and management
  • business and capability optimisation
  • development of operational level strategies and plans to improve the outcomes of systems
  • theory and application of innovative and sophisticated analytical techniques such as cognitive systems engineering, modelling of work domains, control tasks, strategies and socio-organisational factors
  • identification of potential system failures, human errors, error analysis
  • development of training intervention strategies

One significant tool used by the OR&A Practice is the ACE-Lab.
